The Valverde cooperative was born in 1982, when the Botticino commune, owner of the bed, renew its commercial quarrying contracts, redistributing concessions in the process, creating space for the new business initiative and increasing the growth potential of the local economy.

In 1987 the Valverde cooperative became founding member of the Consortium of Botticino Classico Marble Producers, standing in defense of original marble's outright quality and the working tradition exclusive to the basin's community. These are the reasons why it was one of the promoters of creating the Marmo Botticino Classico geographical mark. In 2005 the Marmo Botticino Clasico mark was registered to guarantee the unique quality of local production, as well as provide a means to control the sale, success and experience of Made in Italy products on the international markets.
