The extracted material stands by the name of Lioz, a limestone of sedimentary origin presenting discontinuity in the characteristics of the stone depending on the extraction area within the quarry.

These variants are visible at several levels, namely in colour, morphology and physicochemical properties. The quarry presents faint cleavages, and consists of four main limestone benches.

The quarry also produces white limestone and there are still considerable deposits of this type of rock.
