Marble is not the most heat resistant material when compared to natural stones like granite or quartzite. Marble has a low thermal conductivity, which means it takes longer to warm up or cool down than other materials. however, it still tends to warp or crack if subjected to extreme heat, making it unsuitable for kitchen countertops or fireplace surrounds.
