I am creating the brief now, but it will likely be complete only a week before the show.
In general terms, we would like to create 2 prototypes and get volume pricing for 2 types of composite panels.
1 - Approx 1.2m x 2.4m x 3mm thick rigid panel.
2- Approx 45cm x 122cm x 2.6cm thick Honeycomb board. Skins on top and bottom of the board can be the same thickness as #1 above. The entire perimeter of the board needs to have the thick material. Like a hollow core door.
*Everything would be made of denim scrap, shredded to have a uniform piece size. We need to discuss the possibilities here and how it would affect the appearance
Ideally the resin is a Bio-resin. Similar to Entropy Resins https://entropyresins.com/
The honeycomb needs to be a recycled material, either post-consumer waste cardboard, or ocean plastic.
The top and bottom exterior surfaces would be virgin material continuous single layer skin. We will likely look at Denim for one side and wood veneer for the other side.
We will have 200kg bundles of denim scrap ready to be picked up from a location in China by the end of August.
The denim scrap for production will be available in China. The end products will ship to our retail fixture manufacturer in China. These panels must be produced in China.
We will also need to understand minimum production runs and timing. These details can be worked out after the prototype phase.
We are hoping to receive the 2 prototypes from each vendor early December for evaluation.
