Draenert: Table on stone slab base
German company specializing in exclusive design furniture has turned a classic concept topsy-turvy
Usually a table top is set on the table, e.g. in marble for all to see and admire. A new idea was developed by Draenert and realized in its ?Laetitia“ model: here the table top is made of glass allowing a glance right through to the base where a slab of beautiful Brazilian Black Marinace natural stone can be admired supporting the table. The table legs and frame are made of black oak, design by Andrea Quaglio and Manuela Simonelli.
As usual, Draenert was represented at this year's IMM Cologne Trade Fair (January 18th to 24th 2016).
One model, in which the table top is practically reflected in the base as in the case of ?Laetitia“ is the sideboard ?Twin“ designed by Professor Dieter Zimmer and Burkhard Hess. The material implemented on our photo is Italian Grigio Carnico Limestone.
?Tosca“ is another novelty (design by Patric Draenert, in Indian Forest Green) as is ?Lauro“ (design by Stephan Veit, in Indian Spider Green Marble).
With the extendable table ?Fontana“ Draenert won a number of highly coveted design prizes such as the Interior Innovation Award, IF Design Award, Red Dot ?Best of the Best“ as well as the German Design Award Special.
Draenert has been one of the leading brands in furniture design for over 45 years. The focus is on dining tables, coffee tables and side tables and matching chairs. A distinguishing factor in Draenert's tables is the clever extension mechanism which has won prizes on a regular basis.
